Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service

The Montgomery County Special Operations Section is charged with maintaining the training, dispatch and assisting in the mitigation of incidents that require specialized rescue techniques and personnel. These teams include Maryland Task Force One, River Rescue and Tactical Services Team, Hazardous Incident Response Team, and the Incident Management Team.

All of the teams maintain a personnel roster of specially trained personnel that can repsond regionally and assist in mitigating incidents. All teams are under the direction of Assistant Chief Michael D. McCarty, Special Operations Chief. Chief McCarty is also the Program Manager for Maryland Task Force One, Maryland's only federally sponsored USAR team.
